After our family moved into the area from across the country, we chose to enroll our 2-year-old son in the Toddler Program at Fox Valley Montessori School (FVMS). We selected FVMS after a school tour and classroom observation revealed the attentiveness of all of the staff members to the students and their families. We also found their adherence to the ideals of Maria Montessori to be a major influence in our decision to enroll.
During the course of the following year, my son thrived at FVMS. He developed a secure relationship with his teachers, who helped him become more self-confident and independent. They were also more than willing to help out with the potty-learning process. While in our family, we try not to focus on “results,” we have witnessed notable changes in our child that are definitely the direct result of his experiences at FVMS. For months now, my son has been fully potty-trained and capable of washing his own hands and getting dressed by himself. He is inquisitive, and is unafraid to initiate conversations with other children and adults. He expresses more willingness to try new foods. The list goes on and on…and let’s not forget that we are talking about a toddler, here!
After having to relocate to Chicago, we had a difficult time finding another Montessori program that measured up to Fox Valley Montessori. FVMS fosters an environment that actively seeks input from the parent-community while at the same time employing very talented teachers and staff members who work are fully invested in making the school an exceptional place for our children to grow and to learn. ~ Nerissa Kuebrich |
